Ikat Weaving ( Saroong )

Ikat weaving in Ende is traditional diligence product of the local people.It has various and special motif and many kinds according etnic, because each etnic has its own motif. The motif of ikat weaving is different from one etnic to another etnic such as : Lio, Ende and others etnic in Flores. You Also can witness the process of the production/manufacturing step by step. The main production of ikat weaving in ende - Lio are : Sawo - Lawo (Female Sarong ), Sukka - Ragi ( Male Sarong ) and Senai - Semba ( shawl ). The other production are : bag, hat, T-shirt, jacket and other souvenir. Some vilageshave activities of ikat weaving are all vilages in Ende isle; Bheramari, Raporendu, Nggorea, Ndorurea ( Nangapanda District ); Nggela, Wolojita, Tenda, Pora, ( Wolojita District ); Ngaluroga, Nila, Ngalupolo, Wolotopo, Onelako, Lokoboko ( Ndona District ); Jopu, Mbuliloo, Mbuliwaralau, Wiwipemo ( Wolowaru District ); and all villages in South Ende District.

Besides that the plait is wellknown in some villages such as : Roga, Nila, Ngaluroga, Wonda, Maubasa, Welamosa. It was various and colourful product as interesting souvenir such as : bag, hat, mat, blanket and so on that can be used daily or as souvenir.

There is also Anadeo of ancestors and traditional belief from aour people. People believed thad Anadeo statue has magical power. This statue can be Found in Keda or Traditional houses.
